Carlos Alcaraz is back playing on grass courts, but he’s not focused on last year’s Wimbledon win.
He’s looking ahead, aiming to improve his game on grass because he always strives for the best results. Alcaraz never enters a tournament just to participate; he plays to win. Losses are simply lessons for him.
Last year, he cramped against Djokovic at Roland Garros but later beat him at Wimbledon. That painful loss taught him valuable lessons which helped him triumph in the Wimbledon final .
Alcaraz’s Mindset:
Alcaraz aims to become a better player with each match, regardless of winning or losing. When asked about last year’s Wimbledon victory at Queen’s Club, he brushed it off. He played his first match back on grass and won against Francisco Cerundolo but emphasized that past successes don’t occupy his mind.

“It doesn’t matter the tournament I’m playing or everything I’ve achieved… I have to still keep learning,” said Alcaraz. “I have to get better every day. Every time I step on a grass court, I have to learn how to move better and how to play better. I feel like I’m still learning here.”
Fans might think it’s refreshing that he’s so focused on growth rather than resting on his laurels.
Despite winning the prestigious grass-court major, there’s still much for him to learn about playing on this surface. His goal this year is clear: play more matches and hopefully secure many wins.
Starting strong at the 2024 Cinch Championships was promising but not flawless as he nearly lost the second set.
What do you think? Can Alcaraz continue improving and dominate the grass courts?
