Alcaraz Predicted to Dominate Next Decade Says Henman

-

Carlos Alcaraz has achieved so much by 21.

Tim Henman believes Alcaraz will keep winning Grand Slams. By the start of 2024, Alcaraz had already won the US Open in 2022 and Wimbledon in 2023. Despite a rocky end to 2023, some thought he might struggle in 2024.

But, Alcaraz proved them wrong. He won his first French Open by beating Alexander Zverev and then defeated Novak Djokovic at Wimbledon again .

At the Olympics, Djokovic finally got his revenge by beating Alcaraz 7-6, 7-6 for the gold medal.

Alcaraz’s Unique Talent:

Alcaraz’s success is even more amazing because he feels he’s not playing his best yet. Serena Williams once said she could beat most players at only 70% of her best; this seems true for Alcaraz too.

Nikola Pilic thinks Alcaraz is more talented than Sinner. If that’s true, it could be tough for Sinner going forward.

Tim Henman also sees a bright future for Alcaraz. Speaking to Tennis365, Henman expressed excitement about how many Grand Slams the young Spaniard might win.

“To have won four Slams on three different surfaces by the age of 21 is just mind-boggling,” Henman said. “With his game, how sound he is physically, technically and mentality-wise, I think he will keep winning.”

Fans might wonder if anyone can stop him now.

“He has such a good team around him and that’s vital at this age,” Henman added. “It’s going to be so exciting to see how many majors he wins over the next decade.”

Henman also talked about how hard it seemed to break Pete Sampras’ record of 14 major titles—a feat Federer, Nadal, and Djokovic have all surpassed.

While hopeful about Alcaraz’s future success, Henman stopped short of predicting he’d beat Djokovic’s record of 24 Grand Slams. Instead, he advised focusing on one step at a time: “Other players will start winning majors as well… When I was playing and Pete Sampras won his 14th major, I would have said there is no chance anyone is going past that total for the foreseeable future.”

“Now we have had three guys who have comfortably moved past his total,” Henman continued. “So you never know what is coming next.”

What do you think? How many Grand Slams will Carlos win?
