Djokovic Dismisses Retirement Rumors Post-Olympics Win

-

Novak Djokovic has won almost everything in tennis, yet he isn’t planning to retire soon.

If you doubt his passion, just listen to what he said about the next Olympics. Djokovic expressed a strong desire to compete in the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.

He’ll be 41 by then, which is quite surprising given his age now is 37.

He doesn’t need more achievements; his list is already endless. But when asked about retiring, he brushed off the idea. Recently, he defeated a top player who is 16 years younger than him in the Olympics final. Why retire when he’s still so competitive?

Djokovic’s Love for Tennis:

Even after winning everything possible, Djokovic doesn’t want to stop. He enjoys competing and training daily and remains exceptionally good at it.

“I know that I have already won all the big tournaments, but I still love this sport, I love competing, training day after day, continuing to improve and taking care of my body.”

“Tennis means a lot to me and I do my best to give back to this sport everything it has given me. I don’t know what the future holds; now is the time to celebrate.”

Fans might think it’s amazing how he’s still going strong despite his age.

In past statements about retirement, Djokovic mentioned he’d stop when he no longer enjoys playing or isn’t competitive anymore. Clearly, that’s not happening now as he just won the Olympic Games and shows no signs of slowing down.

For now, Djokovic continues on the ATP Tour. After his triumph in France, he’ll soon prepare for North American events like the Cincinnati Open and then aim for another major win at the US Open.

What do you think? Should Djokovic keep playing as long as he’s enjoying it?
