Djokovic Dismisses Retirement Talks at Wimbledon

-

Novak Djokovic has no plans to retire after Wimbledon 2024.

Despite not winning the Wimbledon trophy this year, Djokovic is determined to keep playing for many more years. He came back quickly from knee surgery and aimed to win, not just participate.

Djokovic didn’t just want to see if he could still compete; he believed he could win. Until the final match, it seemed possible, but Carlos Alcaraz outplayed him in the end .

After the match, Djokovic admitted Alcaraz was better and deserved the victory. When asked about retiring during his press conference, he firmly dismissed those thoughts.

Future Plans:

Djokovic expressed his desire to return to Wimbledon and made it clear that retirement isn’t on his mind at all.

“I would love to come back here. I don’t have anything else in my thoughts right now, that this is my last Wimbledon. I wanna play, at least, whatever I don’t know. I don’t have any limitations in my mind. I still want to keep going and play as long as I feel I can play on this high level.”

At 37 years old, Djokovic remains committed to playing as long as he can perform well. This year’s event showed he’s still capable of competing at a high level.

He may not be winning as frequently now—going into August without a trophy for the first time since 2005—but fans will be thrilled if he continues playing.

What do you think about Djokovic’s decision?
