Draper Advised Caution After Alcaraz Loss Opportunity

-

Jack Draper is having a great run at the US Open but needs to stay grounded.

The US Open is tough because only top players participate. It’s a Grand Slam, so everyone there is really good.

Carlos Alcaraz lost early, making Draper’s path easier . But his next opponent, Tomas Machac, is still very strong and has been playing well.

Draw Opens Up:

Machac defeated Sebastian Korda, showing he’s dangerous. Even with big names like Alcaraz and Djokovic out, no match is easy for Draper.

During a Sky Sports broadcast, Laura Robson said Draper’s section of the draw looks promising for him to advance far. “It’s wide open,” she noted. “Jordan Thompson took out another high seed by beating Hubert Hurkacz.”

Robson added that De Minaur isn’t fully fit due to hip issues since Wimbledon: “It feels like a chance.”

However, Tim Henman advised caution. He emphasized that Draper should stay focused and not underestimate anyone in his section of the draw.

Fans might think this could be Draper’s big break .

Henman stressed that every player in this section knows it’s a huge opportunity: “We’ve looked at that section of the draw, and it has opened up.”

Draper must concentrate on his game plan to succeed because all players here have similar skills and little experience in later rounds of Grand Slams. The match against Machac will be played at Louis Armstrong Stadium as the second match on Monday’s schedule.

What do you think? Can Draper go all the way?
