Taylor Fritz’s girlfriend, Morgan Riddle, criticized Alexander Zverev on social media regarding his recent domestic abuse case.
Fritz and Zverev faced off in an intense five-set match during the 2024 Wimbledon Championships. Fritz, ranked World No. 12, made an incredible comeback from two sets down to win with scores of 4-6, 6-7, 6-4, 7-6, and 6-3 over three and a half hours. This marked the eleventh time this year that a player has come back from such a deficit at Wimbledon.
Shortly after the game, Riddle posted controversial messages on Instagram that have since been deleted.

Riddle shared a photo from Centre Court with the caption “When ur man wins 4 the girls,” followed by a video of her dancing in celebration with the message “cheer loud ladies.” These posts seemed to mock Zverev due to past accusations of domestic abuse by his ex-girlfriends. In May, Zverev faced trial but settled out-of-court with Brenda Patea, mother of his daughter Mayla.

The case was dropped last month after Zverev agreed to pay €150,000 to the state and €50,000 to charities without being convicted. During their match at Wimbledon, Zverev played despite an injured knee he sustained against Cameron Norrie in the third round.
Zverev also expressed displeasure about some members of Fritz’s team celebrating too enthusiastically courtside during their match. This led to a tense moment between him and Fritz at the net post-match.
However, Zverev clarified later that he holds no grudge against Fritz himself but has issues with some people in his camp.
