Jannik Sinner‘s biggest regret from the 2024 season wasn’t what most people expected.
The young Italian had an amazing year, reaching the top of the ATP rankings and winning his first Grand Slam. Later on, he snagged another major title at the US Open and finished as the year-end No. 1 player.
He was a tough opponent for many players, easily defeating them in matches. But things took a turn when he tested positive for doping at Indian Wells Open.

Unexpected Challenges:
After that incident, Sinner faced a long and frustrating process. Initially cleared by one agency, another decided to appeal despite upcoming rule changes. Fans might think this situation was unfair to him.
Once the season wrapped up, Sinner got some downtime with loved ones and even traveled to Abu Dhabi for a Formula One event. As an F1 ambassador, he waved the chequered flag at Yas Marina Circuit’s final race.
Sadly for him, it was Lando Norris who won instead of Ferrari—his favorite team—leading McLaren to victory in the championship.
Sinner also spent time with Charles Leclerc from Ferrari during his trip there. He mentioned in an interview how meeting Leclerc was special: “A unique experience… The control he has is incredible.”
Besides Leclerc, Sinner chatted with Max Verstappen about balancing sports achievements and personal life: “We are athletes but also people… friends and family are most important.”
Reflecting on his tennis year during an interview, Sinner revealed that losing to Daniil Medvedev in Wimbledon quarter-finals left him disappointed more than anything else—not even his doping case bothered him as much: “Wimbledon is where I left most regrets… Our sport is unpredictable.”
