The Laver Cup often brings together players who don’t always get along.
Medvedev and Tsitsipas have a rocky history. Their first clash in Miami ended with harsh words but no real action.
Their relationship stayed tense , though sometimes it seemed friendly. They even danced after beating each other recently.

Teammates at Laver Cup:
This year’s Laver Cup has them on the same team again, just like in Boston 2021. Medvedev also has a bumpy relationship with Zverev, especially lately.
They’ve had some tense matches and exchanged words in interviews. While Zverev called Medvedev a friend after winning the ATP Finals in Turin, Medvedev disagreed, saying they were never friends.
Fans might find this news surprising since they seem so competitive on court!
Both are teammates again this year in Berlin, just like Boston 2021. When asked about his relationships with both players, Medvedev was clear—they’re not best friends.
“No, to be honest,” he said, “I don’t think it’s that tough… We support each other 100%, and honestly, at least for me, it’s an easy switch.”
Medvedev is known for being calm off-court and doesn’t seem too bothered by past spats with teammates.
“So yeah,” he continued, “we love to exaggerate things on social media… What happened with me, Sascha (Zverev), Stefanos (Tsitsipas), yeah we played some matches.”
He explained that while they’ve had moments of conflict before , it’s often blown out of proportion.
“Sometimes we had some fights. Sometimes someone said something in the press conference. And it’s okay… We’re still rivals.”
“But people tend to exaggerate it… No, it’s okay; we respect each other. Here I think we support each other like never before.”
What do you think about these rivalries?
