Rafael Nadal‘s sleeveless top from his first Grand Slam win in 2005 at Roland Garros is now for sale.

On July 17th, Prestige Memorabilia announced that tennis fans can buy one of the most iconic outfits in tennis history, which marked the start of Nadal’s amazing career. This company offers authenticated memorabilia from legendary players, including rackets, jerseys, photos, and equipment. They said this shirt is “the only photomatched shirt from a winning Grand Slam to be auctioned.”

The outfit is up for bidding until August 4th and has been verified by Resolution Photomatching. They confirmed Nadal wore it during his quarterfinal, semifinal, and final matches .

Historic Matches:

In the semifinals and finals, Nadal faced Roger Federer for the first time in a Grand Slam and won in four sets. It was their first of many battles on major stages. Just three days after turning 19, he defeated Mariano Puerta to claim his first of 22 Grand Slams.

Fans might think this auction is a great chance to own a piece of tennis history.

Nadal is known as the best clay-court player ever. Fans can relive that moment when it all began. Besides his incredible skills on the court, he also had a unique fashion sense.

His lime-green Nike top with the logo on his right shoulder became famous not just for its style but also because it was sleeveless with white diagonal lines giving it a flashy look. The dark-colored neckline and armholes made it stand out even more.

Nadal paired this top with three-quarter pants that he found “extremely comfortable.” Nike suggested he wear them back then. This bold choice became a symbol of his early career dominance as he won four straight titles from 2005 to 2008. Even though he lost once in 2009 at Roland Garros, he’s won an unmatched total of 112 matches there.

His last title at Roland Garros was in 2022 when he beat Casper Ruud for his record-breaking 14th crown at one tournament—a record that’s hard to beat!

This year alone saw Prestige Memorabilia auction off Nadal’s match-winning racket from the 2007 French Open for $118,206! Other big sales include Novak Djokovic’s racket from the 2016 French Open final and Iga Swiatek’s racket from her third Roland Garros win.
