Australian tennis player Nick Kyrgios recently lost his ranking in the ATP Rankings due to dropping all of his points. Despite being one of the most talented players on the ATP Tour, injuries have prevented him from competing. His last points were earned at the 2022 Japan Open held in October 2023. With the release of the draw without Kyrgios, it was evident that he would become unranked.

This reality came true with the latest ATP Rankings, as Kyrgios lost all of his points from last year’s Wimbledon tournament, resulting in a drop to a ranking of 0. This is not an uncommon occurrence, as both Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal have experienced the same. Kyrgios’ ranking journey has been intriguing, reaching the 13th spot in 2016 but remaining around the 20th spot for most of his career.

At the beginning of the 2023 season, Kyrgios held the 21st ranking position, which eventually dropped as he was unable to play. However, despite the difficulties he may face in climbing back up the rankings, Kyrgios will receive support from tournaments in the form of wild cards. His popularity and skills as a player make him an attractive addition to many tournaments.

Coincidentally, on the same day Kyrgios became unranked, his close friend and fellow ATP Tour player, Thanasi Kokkinakis, achieved a new career-high ranking of 68th place, eight years after reaching spot no. 69. This serves as a reminder of the ups and downs that players experience in their professional tennis careers.
