Bad news for Stuttgart tennis fans as Ons Jabeur and Qinwen Zheng have pulled out of the 2025 Porsche Tennis Grand Prix.
The Stuttgart tournament is a favorite among WTA players. It’s an indoor clay event that helps them transition to the red dirt season, with a pretty amazing bonus – the winner drives away with a brand-new Porsche on top of their prize money!
Sometimes that luxury car is worth even more than the champion’s paycheck.

While the tournament still boasts an impressive lineup including Aryna Sabalenka, Coco Gauff, and Iga Swiatek, it’s lost two potential title contenders.
Jabeur has been a Stuttgart regular. The Tunisian reached the quarter-finals in 2022 and made it to the semis in 2023. Last year she exited in the second round, and now she’s sidelined with a leg injury.
Shortly after Jabeur’s withdrawal came another disappointment.
Qinwen Zheng won’t be making her third straight appearance at the tournament. She competed in 2023 and 2024, reaching the second round both times.
Zheng explained her decision in a statement:
"Following a few long weeks in the US, my body is fatigued and needs some proper rest to recover and get me back to 100%. I had a great time playing in Stuttgart last year and I am sad to miss this year’s tournament, but look very much forward to returning next year."
The withdrawals didn’t stop there. Former French Open champion Barbora Krejcikova also pulled out due to her ongoing back issues.
There is a silver lining for some – Rebecca Sramkova has now moved into the main draw thanks to these late withdrawals.
The tournament kicks off April 14th with Sabalenka as the top seed.
