Race Overview:
The ATP race is heating up with less than 1000 points between Rublev in eighth and Sebastian Baez in 18th. Tommy Paul is currently the highest-ranked American man, just above Taylor Fritz. He also became American number one in the official ATP rankings after his big win at Cinch Championships. Novak Djokovic sits at 13th after being out due to injury since Roland Garros.
Djokovic might miss out on competing at the ATP Finals if he skips Wimbledon because of his knee injury and doesn’t improve his form soon. He’s already traveled to London but hasn’t decided about playing yet.
Holger Rune, who made it to last year’s ATP Finals, faces a tough challenge this season as he’s currently ranked 16th with 1375 points. Lorenzo Musetti is also making strides towards entering the top 20 after finishing runner-up at Queen’s; he’s now ranked 22nd.
