Medvedev’s Support

Sinner was World No. 1 when this news came out, which didn’t look good for tennis. However, Medvedev doesn’t see it as a big problem for the sport. He openly said he believed Sinner did nothing wrong, showing strong support from fellow players.

At the 2024 China Open in Beijing, Medvedev shared his thoughts:

“Actually, to be honest, I didn’t discuss it much in the locker room… some think that he should be banned… some think no.”

“My view is always on these things is kind of try to distance myself where the situation is very tough for him.”

“As I always said, no one wants to be in this situation because… imagine tomorrow you get an email… you fail your doping test.”

“You’re like, Wow, what I do now because I have no idea how it happened that it’s in my pee…”

Fans might feel mixed about this news.

Recently, WADA reopened Sinner’s case with an appeal. This frustrated Sinner even more. Medvedev understood and supported him again.

“I want to say he does what he needs to do… Let’s see how it finishes,” Medvedev said sympathetically.

“I don’t think it has a bad look in tennis because if 10 top-10 players suddenly would be on the same substance or something…”
