Jannik Sinner has decided not to participate in the 2024 Paris Masters. This year, he played many matches and did well in most of them, even though he didn’t join a lot of tournaments. Fortunately, his health was generally good, so he didn’t have to skip many events.
However, Sinner had to miss the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris due to tonsillitis and now won’t compete in the last ATP Masters 1000 tournament of the season either. Despite this setback, his position as World No. 1 is secure with a lead of over 4,000 points ahead of Carlos Alcaraz.
Sinner had a tough draw in Paris ; facing Ben Shelton might have been tricky for him early on. Fans might feel sad about his withdrawal but understand that health comes first.

Health Concerns and Withdrawals:
The Italian player shared his disappointment about missing out on playing at the tournament due to illness. “I’m very disappointed to tell you that I’m not able to play here,” he said. He arrived early for preparations but fell sick with a virus that will linger for two or three days, leaving him unfit for competition.
He also expressed regret: “I’m very, very sorry for that… see you guys all next year.” After feeling unwell following his initial practice session and consulting with a doctor who confirmed it was a virus, Sinner knew competing wasn’t possible.
Even though he’s starting to feel better now, he admitted he’s still too weak for high-level play. “It doesn’t make sense to go on court,” he remarked about trying to compete under these conditions.
Fans might be wondering if this decision affects upcoming events like the ATP Finals or Davis Cup Finals. With the ATP Finals happening soon in Turin from November 10th-17th, playing there is important for him since it’s held in Italy.
For now, recovering fully is Sinner’s main focus rather than planning future matches. “The most important part is to recover,” he stated while hoping he’ll be ready by then.
Some fans may feel disappointed not seeing their favorite player perform; however others could be excited as Arthur Cazaux steps into Sinner’s spot as a lucky loser at Paris Masters! What do you think about these changes?
