Zverev Can Dominate Any Player Like Against Nadal at Roland Garros

-

Alexander Zverev is gearing up to defend his gold medal at the Paris Olympics.

He surprised everyone by winning the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, even though he was known for his talent and had beaten top players before.

Despite a strong start in his career, Zverev didn’t win any Grand Slams yet, so his Olympic victory was quite unexpected.

In the semi-final against Novak Djokovic, Zverev lost the first set 1-6. Djokovic played brilliantly that week and dominated the opening set.

But then something strange happened: Djokovic seemed to lose energy, and Zverev took advantage of this sudden change. He turned the match around, winning 1-6, 6-3, 6-1.

Biggest Career Achievement

Zverev went on to defeat Karen Khachanov in the final to claim his gold medal. This victory remains his biggest achievement so far.

“This is so much bigger than anything else… The value for me is incredible because you’re not playing for yourself; you’re playing for your whole country.”

The German will also have a good shot in Paris since he’s performed well at Roland Garros recently with several semi-finals and a final appearance this year.

Even though he didn’t win that final, many believe he’s one of the top contenders for gold next to Carlos Alcaraz, who is seen as the favorite.

Fans might think it’s exciting to see how aggressive play has unlocked new levels in Zverev’s game.

Former coach Marc Rosset believes that if Zverev plays aggressively like he did against Nadal at Roland Garros earlier this year or before getting injured that year, he can dominate any player and challenge for a medal under the Eiffel Tower.

“When Alexander plays aggressively, he is the most dominant tennis player as he did against Nadal at Roland Garros; he can dominate any player.”

The Olympic tennis tournament kicks off on July 27th, 2024. Will Zverev be able to defend his title? What do you think?
